As the temperature continues to rise, nothing sounds better than a refreshing, ice cold popsicle. Not just any popsicle, either—a popsicle infused with edible flowers. It sounds interesting, and it’s definitely not something that you see everyday. But with flowers abloom and summer in full-force, we decided to combine the two for a perfect summer treat.
Ingredients (Serving Size: 8 Popsicles)
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tbsp to 1/2 cup dried flowers (depending how floral you want your pops)
- Fresh edible flowers
- Removed petals
- Popsicle mold
The first step is to gather your edible flowers! To see what type of flowers are edible, you can view the list available here. After you have your flowers selected, you steep them in the sugar and water. Set this aside for approximately 1 hour; that way, the flowers can absorb the flavor.
After the hour is up, you can pour your mixture in the popsicle mold while the flowers are straining out. Place the mold into the freezer without the sticks for 1 hour. Then, remove the mold from the freezer and add your fresh flower petals. Try your best to arrange them evenly throughout the popsicle (the stick might come in handy for this part). After the petals are distributed, add the sticks and freeze until solid.
