Summer is nearly here, and the heat only continues to rise. We know that everyone will be frantically trying to stay cool for the next few months, so here are a few eco-friendly suggestions to do just that.
1. Stay hydrated. All living things need water, but it helps to stay hydrated during the warmer months. Staying hydrated will help ensure perspiration, in turn keeping your core body temperature down. Besides water, other hydrating drinks include herbal teas and natural juices.
2. Keep the curtains drawn. Curtains are a natural way to keep the sunlight out. With the sunlight no longer beaming through the windows, your house will remain at a cooler temperature. Also, curtains can help compliment your home décor. It’s a win-win!
3. Enjoy some peppermint. Peppermint is widely-known to offer a fresh, cooling sensation. Iced peppermint tea is a common treat, which can keep you refreshed. If you add peppermint oil to lotion, it can also help relieve hot and tired feet.
4. Don’t cook. When you use your stove or oven, it creates an insane amount of heat that builds-up in your house. To avoid increasing the inside temperature, we recommend avoiding cooking with your kitchen appliances. Instead, trying making a healthy salad or sandwich.
Now that we’ve shared some tips, we hope that you have a fun and cool summer!
